Chemical Peel Uses and Limits
Chemical peels vary in depth and may address selected surface texture and pigment concerns; they do not treat every line, scar, vessel, or form of skin laxity.

The guide
Three points to consider.
The ICRS material describes chemical peeling as controlled removal of selected outer skin layers for concerns such as rough texture, sun-related spots, freckles, irregular pigmentation, superficial scarring, and selected changes on the face, neck, or hands.
It also identifies important limits: a peel is not presented as a treatment for deep facial lines, broken capillaries, loose skin, pore size, or deep scars.
Light, medium, and deep peels have different treatment intensity and recovery. Skin type, pigment history, scarring history, current medicines, recent acne treatment, and the exact concern must be reviewed before selecting a peel.
